4/16/2024 0 Comments Dead rising 3 map with store namesNo, I didn't say the missions were bland. There's a reason timed missions are used very sparingly in games, they're very difficult to enjoy. And DR's mechanic made the game pretty stressful to play. Because stress is a decidedly negative thing. Stress is something almost no one looks for in life, and you must mean some other description, like engaging, challenging, exciting, etc. Hell I've been playing dark souls a ton lately and while fights can get really tense they're not stressful. There's plenty of games that can be tense, but not stressful. What other game has a weird timer mechanic like Dead Rising? It's not used much for a reason. So what the hell's the problem?Īnd you still didn't answer. The game has changed to accommodate more than just you now, and thing is, it still accommodates you. I just play more relaxed games rather than trying to change something YOU already like to fit MY desires. Not every game needs to be tense because you want it to be, I don't bitch about "hardcore" (what an awful term) games saying they need to be more relaxed. You want this game to cater to you, you could just not play it. That kind of upset feels a lot like a slap to the face to many people, especially with how many people don't want a X1. Darker setting, devoid of most upfront humour and for some reason Xbox exclusive again. Now imagine if the 3rd game wasn't saints Row 3, but instead closer to GTA4. 2nd game comes out a bit more wacky, adds co-op, and is now multiplatform. Starts out 360 only, a bit wacky but a serious narrative. To draw parallels to another series the evolution of Dead Rising would be comparable mostly to Saints Row. Gun crafting was neat, if a bit tedious, and co-op was a blast. I forgave the fact DR2 got rid of a lot of what made DR1 great because of how much fun I did have with that game. For me it was the sense of urgency, the weight to every moment. But it didn't get that because of it's map size or amount of zombies on screen. DR1 is one of the reasons I will never get rid of my 360. I'll probably get a X1 eventually but Dead Rising 3 just isn't a selling point for me yet.
